Score thresholds & decisions

Every order gets a number between 0 and 100. That number is matched against three thresholds, in order: Cancel, Hold, Review. Anything below all three is approved silently.

The three thresholds

ThresholdWhat it doesDefault
ReviewOrder completes checkout but appears in Flagged Orders.30
HoldOrder on hold; payment isn\’t processed until you approve.60
CancelAuto-cancels the order and shows the customer a refusal message.80

Tuning by store profile

  • High-AOV physical goods (jewelry, furniture, electronics) — Cancel 85–90. False positives cost real revenue and your conversion margin is tight.
  • Digital goods / instant delivery (downloads, software keys, gift cards) — Hold 50, Cancel 75. Once delivered, you can\’t recover the goods.
  • Subscriptions — keep the defaults; lean on the rebill window for low-margin first orders.
  • B2B / quote-driven — raise everything by 10 points. Your buyers are slower and more deliberate; that breaks several behavioural heuristics.

Order amount bypass

Below the thresholds you\’ll find an Order amount bypass field. Orders under this amount skip the entire fraud pipeline — no scoring, no rules, no row in wfg_risk_scores. Useful for stores with cheap line items where false positives cost more than missed fraud. Default 0 (no bypass).
