Admin notifications

Use admin notifications to get a real-time email when an order hits Review, Hold, or Cancel. Useful for being alerted to potentially-fraudulent orders without polling the dashboard.

Recommended setup

  • Cancel — always enable. Auto-cancels mean a customer just saw a refusal at checkout; you want to be aware.
  • Hold — enable. The order is waiting for your action; if it sits too long the customer will email support.
  • Review — skip for high-volume stores (you\’ll get too many) or enable for low-volume stores where every signal is worth a glance.

Where the email goes

By default the site admin email (set under Settings → General) receives the alerts. The Notification email override field accepts one alternative address — useful when you want fraud alerts to go to a dedicated mailbox or a Slack-email gateway. For multi-recipient distribution, configure a forwarding alias on your mail server.

Email design

The alert email uses WooCommerce\’s own transactional email template (WC mailer\’s wrap_message) so the styling matches the rest of your customer/admin emails. Falls back to plain text in CLI contexts and on installs where WC isn\’t fully loaded.
